UPDATE 2009 Stage 6 Mathematics Syllabuses
Are you wondering where the Stage 6 Mathematics syllabuses are up to? The Board of Studies posted the following note on their website on Friday 19th December, 2008:
"The Stage 6 Mathematics syllabuses are nearing finalisation following feedback on the consultation drafts distributed earlier this year.
In light of the work being undertaken by the National Curriculum Board to develop a national curriculum in Mathematics for K–12, the Board of Studies will consider the implications of finalising the syllabuses at its meeting in February."

MANSW Responses to the Draft Stage 6 Mathematics Syllabuses – June 2008
To form a response to the Draft Stage 6 Mathematics Syllabuses MANSW obtained responses from members in a number of ways such as open forums for members, written submissions from individuals and schools and individual meetings with members of the MANSW Executive.

Stage 6 Syllabus Review
STAGE 6 Board of Studies Update - May 2007
The Board of Studies has just published the Draft Writing Briefs for both the new calculus and non-calculus courses for Stage 6. The consultation period for these documents lasts until the 1st June 2007. They list the proposed topics for each course and so we encourage all MANSW members to read these documents carefully and to send their comments and thoughts to BOTH the Board of Studies and to MANSW.

This information includes:

STAGE 6 Board of Studies 2007 Update
The Board of Studies has published an online report on their website on 31st January 2007 called Mathematics Stage 6 Review and Development Project - Report on Syllabus Review (March-December 2006). This report contains:
- An overview of the Syllabus Review phase of the project
- A report from the Symposium held in August 2006
- The literature and curriculum review undertaken during the Syllabus Review
- The Broad Directions for the revision and development of Stage 6 Mathematics
These Broad Directions were endorsed by the Board of Studies at the December 2006 meeting and will guide the development of the Writing Briefs in the first half of 2007.

MANSW Written Submission
As part of the Stage 6 Syllabus review process, MANSW has developed a Written Submission for the Board of Studies. The information in this submission was gathered from MANSW members at our Preliminary Stage 6 Discussion Forum on 1st June, as well as other e-mails, faxes and phone calls from members. It has been submitted to the Board of Studies as part of the review process and is available for MANSW members to download here.

Feedback from OBOS Stage 6 Oral Submissions
Earlier in the year, MANSW was given the opportunity to present an Oral Submission to the Board of Studies. Twelve such Oral Submissions were heard from a range of individuals and organisations and the Board of Studies has developed a summary of the points that were raised. This summary was presented to the June meeting of the Board Curriculum Committee for this project and is available for MANSW members to download here.
